New Site and App

New Site and App

What is Hog[Scan] and why am I hearing about it and receiving information about it?

Hog[Scan] is a HOG Membership solution developed by a HOG member to help chapters with their needs of website, app, membership database, security, etc... To you, the member, it means a new looking web site at pigtrailhog.com. It means you are registered as a user when you join our chapter and this allows you access to areas of the site that are, or will be, restricted to members only. It has improved calendar functionality to will allow you to see previews of ride routes (assuming the Ride Lead provides it to the webmaster) and ability to download the GPX file. This calendar will become our main event calendar, instead of Facebook. Hog[Scan] also has an app that will assist you in RSVP'ing for rides, events, and gatherings. It will allow you to check-in to events and/or the Ride Lead to check you in, which will check to make sure you are current National and current Local Member in good standing. This will eleminate the need to show cards, sign waivers, and will provide the leads easy and fast verifications. Each check-in will give you points for attending and will add up the more you do.... I see future contest and prizes! The one downside to the app is the developer charges a one time .99¢ download fee, so you may have to skip a cup of coffee to get it. It is not required but encouraged, as it will simplify all our lives over time.

This is a very high level of Hog[Scan] and what it is about. As we learn more about it, get it completly set up, start using it more, we will do some trianing and discussions around it. For now, make sure you find the email that was generated and sent to you (assuming you are a current member) and create your password. If you do not see the email, and are a current local member, check your spam folder and promotional folders. If you still do not see it, reach out to [email protected] and provide your name and National HOG Membership number so he can check on it.

I know some of you love technology and others hate it. We believe this is one worth getting into, as it opens up a lot of possibilities in the future and bring simplicity.
